5th Grade Committee
The 5th Grade Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of 5th-grade events, fundraising, and regular communication with teachers, parents, and the PTA board. This committee also coordinates with the Principal and PTA board, manages class gifts, and works on budgeting and schedule planning.
Communication with Teachers: Maintain regular communication with 5th-grade teachers and include them in the planning process for all events.
Planning of 5th Grade Events: Coordinate all aspects of 5th-grade events, or set up separate committees with delegated leads.
Parent Involvement: Extend an invitation to all 5th-grade parents to help with sub-committees/events.
Contract Management: Obtain signatures of PTA Co-Presidents for all contracts.
Principal and PTA Coordination: Regularly coordinate with the Principal and PTA for approvals, budgeting, and scheduling.
Class Gift: Purchase a class gift to the school (Donation to Woodglen on behalf of the graduating class).
Car Wash: Organize a car wash event as a fundraising activity.
Pocket Book Bingo OR The Wizards: These are other potential fundraising activities.
Concessions at Events: Provide concessions at some 5th Grade events as a means of fundraising.
After-School Activities: Organize after-school classes, potentially holding 2 or 3 sessions. Ensure to supervise and maintain discipline during these sessions.
Used Book Sale: Host a used book sale as a fundraising event.
Community Service Project: Collaborate with teachers on the community service project and organize a bagel breakfast for students on the day of the project.
5th Grade Picnic: Plan and organize the 5th-grade picnic.
Trip: Coordinate with teachers to plan a trip that must be approved by the school.
Dance: Organize a dance event.
Yearbook: Oversee the creation and distribution of yearbooks to each 5th grader.
Yearbook Breakfast: Organize a breakfast for 5th-grade students to sign yearbooks.
DARE Program: Organize a pizza lunch and a gift for the Police Officer.
5th Grade T-Shirts: Arrange for t-shirts for all students and teachers to wear on the trip and other spirit days.
Graduation: Handle the printing of diplomas & programs, pay for decorations, flowers for teachers/ta/administration/office staff, and purchase graduation gift for students.
